Sing Along Volume I
In this Volume, Marlon Sobol and friends engage viewers in a 13-song “Sing Along”, featuring music selections curated with client preferences inmind. Highlighting the benefits of singing for older adults, this interactive sing along features opportunities to listen along, read along, sing along, and fill-in-the blanks within an entertaining, engaging, and energizing framework! Primarily drawing from musical styles of the 20th century, this sing along includes a wide range of popular music from American jazz, swing, musical theatre, folk, and blues traditions, representing the gamut of styles within and across client cultures. While providing interventions to promote long-term memory, short-term recall skills, reading comprehension, learning, and multisensory stimulation, this sing along also provides interactive and exacting opportunities for clients and their caregivers to foster a deepened sense of communication, familiarity, nostalgia, reminiscence, connection, and belonging, promoting reality orientation, awareness of self, others, and their environment.
Beyond support of these cognitive, socio-emotional, and limbic areas of need and development in older adults, singing also fosters healthy engagement with cardiac, respiratory, and muscular domains. KOMITOMS Sing Along Volume I includes music selections with a diverse range of tempo, dynamics, articulation, instrumentation, vocal color, and style, all of which serve to maximize quality of life through stimulating and curated programming, prioritizing client needs and preferences.
